Abstract:In response to the difficulties and high cost of simulating real radar in the field, this article uses Simulink modular design to model and simulate the weather radar main vibration amplifier transmitter. In Simulink, component modeling and simulation are carried out on the main modules, including solid-state amplifier, pulse shaper, klystron, and pulse modulator, and packaged into components for functional testing.Assemble the tested components into a transmitter simulation system through signal connections. The simulation results show that the simulation component achieves the main functions of solid-state amplifier, pulse shaper, klystron, and pulse modulator. The simulated transmitter system has an output frequency of 3 GHz,a power of over 650 kW,and an output pulse width of 4.17 μs (wide pulse) and 1.58 μs (narrow pulse). The parameters of each functional components and transmitter output performance established by Simulink have the advantages of easy modification and easy testing, which can be used for system performance evaluation and analysis in weather radar applications.
