Abstract:Global warming has led to increased uncertainty in extreme weather events. In order to improve disaster response capabilities, the article takes the Ili region of Xinjiang as an example, based on comprehensive meteorological, natural environment,socio-economic,and geographic information data, and disaster risk assessment theory, three evaluation elements were selected:hazard of disaster causing factors, sensitivity of disaster prone environments, and vulnerability of disaster bearing bodies.A blizzard disaster risk analysis system and risk zoning model were established. The results show that the risk of blizzard disasters in the Ili region is constrained by multiple indicators, with an overall risk level of medium, and the areas of low or above levels accounting for 86% of the total area of the region; At the county level,Chabuchar Xibe Autonomous County and Yining City have the highest risk level and the largest risk area. The areas of high risk level is 1 500 km2 and 2 000 km2 respectively, and the areas of higher risk level is 1 000 km2 and 2 000 km2 respectively. The research results provide reference for the prevention of blizzard disasters in Yili region.
