Abstract:Aimed at the oscillator death of SBE 3 marine temperature sensor,a systematic measurement study was carried out by repeated experiments and exclusion experiments in this paper. It has been discovered that the interval time of oscillator death was much bigger than the calibrated time constant of sensors, which greatly influenced the accuracy of marine survey results. The results of repeated experiment and exclusion experiment data analysis show that the oscillator death time interval of SBE 3 marine temperature sensor has nothing to do with the motion speed of the sensor, which is linearly related to the temperature gradient. The larger the temperature gradient is,the longer the oscillator death time will be.The linear relationship between oscillator death time interval of different sensors and the temperature gradient is basically consistent. The oscillator death phenomenon of SBE 3 marine temperature sensor is generated by the sensor itself, which has nothing to do with the F/V module of the test equipment.
