Abstract:This paper proposes the application of frequency modulated continuous wave technology in weather detection radar to obtain high detection performance and high reliability of equipment.Firstly,the operating principle of the system is introduced.The system adopts dual antennas with separate transmitter and receiver simultaneously transmitting and receiving electromagnetic wave.Two-dimensional FFT is performed to process I/Q data and the spectrum are accumulated to achieve a better detection sensitivity.The distance,intensity and Doppler calibrations are applied to improve the precision and accuracy.Then,the detection performance of the developed radar is compared with that of the traditional radar,and the results show that the detection refinement of FMCW meteorological radar is larger than that of pulse radar,which effectively compensates for the low space-time density of traditional sounding radar.
