Comparative analysis of three gale observation results between Weihai buoy station and surrounding stations

Abstract:Based on the data of Weihai buoy station and three nearby fixed meteorological observation stations,a comparative analysis of three strong wind processes of magnitude 6 or above occurring in the Yellow Sea during the winter half year of 2019 is conducted in this paper.The results show that:1)the wind speed correlation between Rongcheng Hekou meteorological station and Weihai buoy station is the best,which can be used as a reference station for observing sea surface wind in this area.2)The correction method of logarithmic and exponential relationship height will increase the difference of sea surface wind and coastal wind/island wind.3)It is advisable to establish the statistical regression relationship between sea surface wind and coastal wind/island wind by detailed classification and large amount of observation data,deducing sea surface wind from coastal wind/island wind according to the empirical formula.
