Analysis of severe convective weather characteristics in Taizhou area under the background of cold vortex |

Abstract In order to improve the understanding of strong convective weather during the warm season in Taizhou area,53 cold vortex strong convective weather processes in Taizhou area were screened using conventional ground and high-altitude observation data from 2013 to 2022 and ground area automatic station data,and analyzed through dynamic synthesis.The results show that cold vortex strong convection mainly includes three types:short-term heavy precipitation,thunderstorm strong winds,and mixed type.Among them,mixed type strong convection has the highest frequency of occurrence(31 times),and the maximum hourly rainfall intensity is mainly concentrated in 20.0-29.9 mm/h and 30.0-49.9 mm/h.Thunderstorm strong winds account for the highest proportion(44%) at 8-9 levels;The triggering time of convection exhibits a three peak distribution,mainly concentrated at night,morning,and afternoon,with the highest peak occurring from 13:00 to 16:00.
