Abstract On August 26,2024,the weather control system of Yunnan Zhaotong weather radar experienced a multi-channel rotation joint fault in the azimuth,involving multiple parts and making it difficult to identify the cause.Under the technical guidance of the superior department and the radar manufacturer,the radar support personnel promptly handled the issue and ultimately identified the fault location,successfully eliminating the problem and restoring the radar to normal operation.The staff analyzed the occurrence process of radar faults,the working principle of digital intermediate frequency and azimuth multi-channel rotating joints of the radar receivers,and use methods such as cross-method,isolation method,and testing method to lock the fault location and ultimately eliminate the fault.The handing of this radar malfunction has accumulated experience and provided useful references for handing similar radar malfunctions in the future,and has also provided reliable radar support services for meteorological disaster prevention and reduction.
