Abstract In response to the natural disaster risks such as lightning at a certain LNG receiving station,this study aims to propose an effective lightning protection technology improvement plan through simulation strategies for lightning protection.Firstly,a brief introduction is given to the lightning protection design principles and measures of LNG receiving stations.Then,lightning protection simulation of transmission lines is carried out,and the impact of grounding resistance and lightning arrester on lightning protection of transmission lines,as well as the impact of soil resistivity on lightning protection systems,are analyzed.Finally,taking a certain LNG receiving station as an example,the external grounding resistance reduction method is used to improve the distribution of grounding resistance and contact voltage,proving that this improvement scheme can effectively improve the lightning protection level of LNG receiving stations.The research results have positive significance for improving the safety and stability of LNG receiving stations.
