Abstract Severe convective weather has a large impact range and strong destructive power.Conducting application analysis of boundary layer wind profile radar data in severe convective weather prediction can help improve the accuracy of severe convective weather forecasting.For this purpose,the article takes Xi'an as an example and combines wind profile radar observation data from 2022 to 2024 to analyze the correlation characteristics between boundary layer wind profile radar observation data and severe convective weather.Based on this,it explores its application in severe convective weather forecasting and early warning services.The research results show that in the forecast of severe convective weather such as thunderstorms,strong winds,short-term heavy precipitation,hail,etc.,the accuracy of wind profile radar method is improved by about 19.1%,15.3%,and 8.4% respectively compared to traditional observation methods,and the warning advance time is advanced by about 20-50 minutes.
