Abstract It is complicated procedures that how to transfer the location of GPS to accurate survey point on sea-bed in geographic coordinate system. This paper analyses the whole procedure by mathematic principal, reveals the essence of multi-beam positioning on sea-bed point and points out the real contents of transformation parameter, which can help us to recognize the multi-beam positioning principle better and are of great significant to control error propagation and grasp the key link in quality control.
