Abstract Based on sounding data from 2010 to 2012 in Tacheng sounding station,this paperanalyses some typical abnormal tracking events during the operation of L-band radar such as lost ball and sidelobe ball(false orientation).The results show that abnormal tracking is affected by surface wind direction.Then,the reasons thatcaused these phenomenons are analyzed,and its corresponding preventive measuresare put forward.
