Spatiotemporal distribution of precipitation based on GIS |

Abstract According to P.H.precipitation data of automatic station in Jiangsu province,andcombined with GIS technology,a research method for the precipitation based onduration intensity function is discussed,which can reflect relationship among precipitation duration,strength and area in more accuracy and objectiveness.The results show that the area ratio is more than 40% where the precipitation strength and duration are less than average level in 2008.While it isless than 21.63% where both of them are greater than average level in summer.Furthermore,this method can reveal the differences of each precipitation process,which provides a new way to research precipitation validity.
