Abstract The high altitude meteorological service quality assessment consisteds of five items such as observation quality, average sounding height, average height of wind measurement, replay balloon rate and system failure rate.Balloon flying height is one of examination index in five quality assessments of high altitude meteorological detection.This paper mainly analyzes the balloon from the following aspects storage environment, usage method, prophase preparation of the radiosonde, weather condition, equipment support and data processing.Then, prevention measures and corresponding methods are proposed in order to improve the flying height of the sounding balloon.
