Abstract  The new automatic weather station is designed on the basis of the current advanced international CAN bus technology. It adopts embedded Linux operating system, which can freely select the desired station sensors according to the needs of the station and solve the problems that the current automatic weather station systems are unable to extend new elements. So the collectors and sensors of different manufacturers and different types can be integrated into a new automatic weather station. The new automatic weather station is very different from the previous generation in hardware and software design, and its fault detection methods and procedures are also different from the previous one.The new station can directly use the log and the commands to find faults, combining the traditional substitution method and measuring method to determine the fault location, which is simple, convenient and greatly reduces the maintenance workload.
