Abstract This paper describes the principle and the main failure classification of all solid state modulators of weather radar.Based on the analysis of the typical breakdowns of weather radar modulator components in the operation process,how to locate and remove radar failures are presented according to the alarm information and system breakdowns.The three cases of radar malfunction are not exactly the same but are all related to modulator components.In case of the possible damage done to the transmitter caused by high voltage ARC,the personnel need to master the high voltage line,assembly line and the signal flow so that can eliminate radar malfunction faster and better.
