Abstract The wind sensor and electromagnetic current meter on large ocean buoy station are easily damaged in operation.From the aspect of its working principle,this paper analyses reject reasons in practical use.Based on years of experience on maintenance,the installation structure and safety protection for the sensor are improved.The idea of adding shock absorbing brackets for wind sensor and safety guards round the electromagnetic current meter are put forward.The purpose is to prolong the service life of meteorological and hydrological vulnerable sensors on buoy station and reduce the high maintenance cost.
