Abstract The versions of software and the types of hardware for new generation weather radar CINRAD/CD and CINRAD/SC are not the same and the procedures and methods of calibration are not standard, which bring many difficulties to the standard calibration.Based on the Calibration Technical Specifications for New Generation Weather Radar, the precautions and specifications are elaborated carefully in the following three aspects of instrumentation, radar systems and transmit receive branch loss.At the same time, the test method of transmit receive branch loss is explicit for the first time.The calibration technical specifications can effectively prevent misuse instrumentation, and improve the effectiveness and reproducibility of the calibration results.
