Abstract Based on the structure and working principle of the automatic sunshine sensor,the information flow and algorithm of the sunshine part in the Integrated Surface Observation Software (ISOS) were checked.It found that two local time difference algorithms in ISOS and the automatic sunshine sensor are not exactly consistent.Two kinds of algorithms lead to a one-minute difference in the starting time of the cumulative sunshine duration.The analysis results can provide the basis for unifying local time difference algorithms in ISOS and the automatic sunshine sensor.
