Abstract According to precipitation and radar data of 223 regional stations in Xiangyang from January to December in 2016,this paper classifies precipitation echoes one more time by using optimized Z-R relation.The different Z-R relationships applied to different type of precipitation echoes are obtained.The verified precipitation estimation products based on No.OUP78 product in several rainfall processes are selected.The default Z-R relation can improve the actual precipitation by 30 percent than before.Then,the precipitation estimation for stratiform cloud is superior to other precipitation echo types,which can lay a further foundation for the localization of CINRAD.
