Abstract This paper briefly describes the technical principle and characteristics of STN.Combined with the level-three network status of the provincial,city and county in Ningxia meteorological bureau and the development of meteorological services,the scheme of using STN to set up the Ningxia meteorological transmission network is put forward,in order to improve the safety,reliability and high speed of meteorological service transmission.
