| Analysis on range of X-band radar for the measurement of wave period |

Abstract This paper firstly analyzes the relationship among the time-space resolution of radar sequence images,sampling length and wave period measurement range.Then,taking the ocean station radar as an example,the range of wave period measured by radar is calculated.Finally,it is proposed that before the construction of the X-band radar station,the observable wave period range should be calculated in advance according to the radar type and location.And the historical data are compared to check whether it meets the demand,so as to provide references for further optimization of radar type and site selection.
