Abstract At present,the altitude difference alarm threshold set by L-band radar is unreasonable in theory and practical application.This paper focuses on the definition of radar height,air pressure height and height difference.The principle of altitude difference alarm is discussed in theory,and the relationship between altitude difference alarm threshold and elevation angle and slant distance is analyzed.And combined with the spherical coordinate data of Shaodong meteorological station in different seasons,the application cases and shortcomings of altitude difference alarm threshold are analyzed.Finally,the improvement suggestions of L-band radar altitude difference alarm are given.
