Abstract This paper introduces the observation principle of digital sunshine recorder and dark-tube sunshine recorder.Based on the comparison data of DFC2 photoelectric digital sunshine meter and dark-tube sunshine meter at 10 national stations during parallel observation in Huanggang city,the differences of hourly,daily and monthly sunshine hours and the differences of sunshine hours under different meteorological conditions are analyzed.The spatial differences between them are also analyzed.The results provide a basis for operation and maintenance,data statistics and application of photoelectric digital sunshine meter.
