Abstract This paper discusses the general methods of maintenance and quality control of observed data for digital sunshine sensor.The daily maintenance and troubleshooting procedure of automatic sunshine observation system are explored in order to ensure the normal operation of instruments and equipment.Then,the data quality control method that is suitable for basic observation station is promoted to increase the quality of observed data and data availability,which can provide reliable data support for weather forecasting,climatic analysis,scientific research and meteorological services.
