Abstract  The relationship between rice growth period and meteorological conditions (temperature, moisture, sunlight) in Zhijin county was studied by using mathematical statistics method based on the agricultural meteorological observation data of rice in Zhijin county from 2010 to 2020 and meteorological data in the same period. The results showed that the growth rate of rice at seedling stage was too slow and lagged behind the growth of rice at the same period due to the early sowing of rice, rain and light at seedling stage, insufficient illumination time and low temperature. From tillering stage to heading and flowering stage, the temperature in Zhijin county was suitable, the sunlight was sufficient, the sunny and hot days were less, and the precipitation at night was good, which greatly shortened the rice growth cycle.
