Abstract This paper introduces the observation principle of the forward scattering visibility meter.Based on the experience of Xianning national meteorological observatory in dealing with data missing,from the point of view of visibility observation system structure,the faults that may cause data missing are classified and analyzed comprehensively.And the checking and processing flow for solving the fault of data missing are put forward.
