Calculation and experimental study on the falling depth of XCTD probe used to deep sea in seawater |

Abstract The depth formula of large depth XCTD probe is modified by combining the theoretical calculation of underwater dynamics with the measurement of underwater motion at sea.Firstly,the physical parameters of the probe are determined,and the theoretical depth formula is obtained by calculating the hydrodynamic parameters of the conventional probe.By designing a special probe equipped with a pressure sensor that the shape and weight are completely consistent with the actual probe,the underwater motion of the probe is measured,and the depth curve is directly obtained to complete the correction of the depth formula.Finally,the sea comparison test is carried out with the high-precision thermohaline depth profiler to verify the effect of formula correction.
