Abstract This paper introduces a minute level real-time monitoring system based on the status information of the main station and the backup station of the national ground meteorological observation station.By applying technologies of TCP communication,SOA components,SMS middleware and serial device networking,the system could monitor the operation status of the generalized automatic weather station and its supporting systems such as uninterruptible power supply (UPS),meteorological communication network,business computer,business software,data file generation and transmission etc.The operation monitoring business process of the direct linkage between the provincial and county levels are established.And the real-time monitoring and minute-level early warning information of two sets of automatic weather stations are issued automatically under different equipment model combinations of 99 national-level ground meteorological observatories in Shaanxi province,which would improve the effectiveness of fault response of automatic weather station and its auxiliary supporting system.
