Abstract：In order to solve the problems of data quality monitoring for the automatic soil moisture observation stations in Shandong province,a visual real time monitoring and warning software was designed for the automatic soil moisture observations based on the visual basic 6.0 through the analysis of the fault phenomena usually appeared in the daily operation.The test operation of the software shows that the software could completely download soil moisture data files and input them into database automatically,and it could timely monitor and warn the fault of data loss and abnormality (greater or less than the threshold and the jump fault,etc.),which could meet the requirements of discovering and maintaining the faults on time for automatic soil moisture observation stations.
