Abstract:Based on the raindrop spectrum data observed by DSG5 type precipitation phenomenon instrument at 5 national meteorological observatory in Zhaoqing,Guangdong Province from 2019 to 2020,the microphysical characteristics of three types of rainstorm processes divided according to weather conditions were analyzed. The results indicate that:there is a good consistency between the process rainfall measured by the DSG5 type precipitation phenomenon instrument and SL3-1 type rainfall sensor.Amony the 8 rainstorms measured by the 3 types, the cumulative rainfall measured by the DSG5 type precipitation phenomenon instrument is smaller than that measured by the SL3-1 rainfall sensor at the national station. In the hourly rainfall comparison species, when the rainfall is small, the hourly rainfall measured by SL3-1 type rainfall sensor will occasionally be slightly larger in a few periods. From the analysis of the five characteristic diameters of raindrop spectrum, the mean diameter of raindrop particle, peak diameter, median diameter, maximum diameter and mass weighted average diameter of raindrop particles in the three types of rainstorm processes are the smallest in tropical cyclone rainstorm, while the mean diameter, peak diameter and mass weighted average diameter are the largest in westerly rainstorm, followed by southwest monsoon type and tropical cyclone type.In the process of rainstorm in Zhaoqing area, raindrops with diameter D<1.0 mm are mostly small raindrops. When the diameter was 1.0 mm≤D<3.0 mm,its rain intensity has the largest contribution to the total rain intensity,as high as 83.89%,yet its particle number concentration rate is only 37.48%.The frequency dispersion of raindrop falling velocity and diameter in the three types of rainstorms on the velocity spectrum accords with the empirical curve.
