Abstract:In order to give full play to the role of C-band dual polarization radar in urban rainstorm monitoring,the working principle of C-band dual polarization radar and its application in urban rainstorm monitoring were studied by using the cooperative analysis method of multiple polarization parameters such as basic reflectivity,differential reflectivity,and specific correlation coefficient.The research results show that the C-band dual polarization radar can identify strong convective signals 10-20 minutes in advance,and the differential phase shift rate is consistent with the actual heavy precipitation area by 95%.The estimation error of heavy precipitation has been reduced to 22%,and the spatiotemporal resolution has been improved to 6 minutes and 250 meters.C-band dual polarization radar realizes accurate identification and quantitative estimation of rainstorm,providing reliable technical support for disaster prevention and reduction.
