Abstract:Wind direction often plays an important and even decisive role in the site selection, layout, and environmental impact of engineering projects, and statistical time is one of the most important factors affecting the frequency statistics of wind direction. In practical applications, there are cases where early timing data or mixed data from different time periods are used, and the statistical results may have significant errors. The article analyzes the impact of different statistical times on wind direction frequency and selects meteorological stations with different terrains and wind direction distribution characteristics for statistical analysis, providing reference for engineering design. The results show that with the increase of statistical time, the frequency errors of each wind direction generally decrease; However, under the conditions of 2 and 3 statistical times, significant errors may occur due to a small sample size or inconsistent time steps.Given that meteorological stations across the country have achieved fully automated observation,it is recommended to use hourly observation data as much as possible to more accurately calculate wind direction frequency.
