Abstract:Based on the precipitation observation data of the National Station and ERA5 reanalysis data, this paper studies the regional extreme rainstorm processes in the Jianghuai and Huaibei cold vortex backgrounds on July 6-7 and 10-11,2023,and compares and analyzes the commonness and difference of precipitation causes. The results show that the cumulative rainfall of the two extreme rainstorm processes is large, extreme and local. The duration of precipitation in the Jianghuai region will be longer on the 6th and 7th,with a latitudinal distribution of precipitation areas. The heavy rainfall period in Huaibei on the 10th and 11th is more concentrated and localized. Both processes of the South Asian high pressure are of the western type, with abnormally strong subtropical high and cold eddies, located at the edge of the subtropical high and accompanied by low-level jet fluctuations. The 6-7 sunset zone is located in front of the cold vortex trough, where high and low altitude jet streams are coupled with strong water vapor convergence. The heavy precipitation on the 10th and 11th was located behind the cold vortex trough, which was significantly affected by the cold vortex, resulting in more unstable stratification, stronger triggering conditions, and stronger convective characteristics.
