Abstract:On April 16,2016,an artificial precipitation enhancement was successfully carried out for preventing drought mitigation in Weifang.Adopting rainfall data from new generation Doppler weather radar,sounding and regional automatic station,the artillery and rocket rain enhancement effect was tested by use of the regional comparison methods.The results show that in a wide range of rainfall weather conditions,the cloud changed after radar detection due to the cloud seeding catalyst,which proofs the effectiveness of artificial rainfall enhancement.The effect of 3 hours rainfall after operation was tested by regional comparison methods.The relative rainfall increases by 18.4% and 22.4% respectively in the two operating areas of the northwest and the south of Weifang.Therefore,the artificial rainfall operations play an important role to increase surface precipitation and alleviate the drought.
