Abstract:By utilizing conventional meteorological observation data,and the 0.25°×0.25° ERA-5 hour-by-hour reanalysis data and Doppler radar detection data,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of atmospheric circulation field,environmental physical field and convective monomer structure involved in two consecutive hail weather processes in Zhangzhou,Fujian on May 8,2021 and May 9,2021.It is concluded that being affected by the inrush of low-level warm and humid airflow and the mid-level dry and cold air,the instability of afternoon environmental geopotential for the period from May 8 to May 9 becomes increased and the surface convergence line has provided favorable dynamic conditions for the occurrence and development of strong convective weather.The sounding layer has favorable conditions for hail and thunderstorm with strong wind.On May 8,due to the fact that the humidity layer does not extend deeply enough and the convective storm moves fast,hence,no wide range of short-term strong rainfall is formed.On May 9,the vertical upward movement happens through the whole convective zone and the humidity layer becomes deeper as well.As a result,the intensity of hail and thunderstorm becomes higher and the rainstorm weather occurs locally,causing relatively larger economic loss.
