Abstract At present,the monthly forecast is difficult on forecast operation.This paper introduces three downscaling methods which are dynamic downscaling method,statistical downscaling method and dynamic-statistical downscaling method.The progress of the investigation on the monthly forecast is summarized,and the further prospects in this area are proposed.
