Abstract In order to improve the lightning warning and lightning protection technology and effectively detect the occurrence of lightning. Sichuan Provincial Meteorological Bureau has constructed 24 atmospheric electric field meter in 2012. The formation of a short-term warning of lightning on a specific area and avoid and mitigate disasters and loss. This paper described in detail the atmospheric electric field meter main structure, function, scope of business and the cloth mesh.
