Abstract  This paper summarizes the existing low-temperature damage monitoring evaluation index in our country, induces the method to determine low-temperature damage index, and introduces the domestic and foreign related research progress of low-temperature damage risk assessment.Abroad research about low-temperature damage focuses on the mechanism of chilling injury and does less research in circulation,space-time distribution, monitoring and early warning for chilling injury. And about the low-temperature damage risk, domestic research of the risk assessment starts mostly from risk probability and risk index.Through the study of low-temperature damage, the risk produced from such disasters can be effectively reduced, and provides powerful basis for further development of monitoring, evaluation and risk regionalization for low-temperature damage.
