Abstract  Simultaneous observation of dual automatic weather stations has been put into practice in every national weather station in Gansu.Although the integrity of observation data is guaranteed by dual stations, the difference between them has become the bottleneck restricting the quality of observation data. The data of dual stations in two stations of Xifeng and Minle was evaluated through the indicators of lack of measurement rate, standard deviation of difference,out-of-tolerance rate, consistency rate and dubiousness rate. And the reasons for the difference of data between the dual stations were analyzed, which found that calibration of the instrument can reduce the influence of instrument measurement error on the data difference between two sets of stations and improve the quality of observation data.
