Abstract Different resistances are produced by the ice and water in the soil in the thermophysical process of soil freeze-thaw as the temperature changes and there is a significant difference in value.Based on such characteristic,the resistance frozen soil sensor is designed and the DOZ-1 resistance frozen soil automatic observation equipment is developed by induction component,signal acquisition,signal conversion processing and terminal.Through the comparison and analysis with the observation data of TB1 artificial frozen soil device,the results meet the technical requirements of automatic measurement of frozen soil.The instrument can be used in frozen soil automatic observation station instead of manual observation.
