Abstract  According to the characteristics of weather radar antenna operation control,an online detection method of antenna status based on weather radar operation log is proposed, which defines the detection parameters such as scanning layer azimuth average velocity, azimuth zero error, and elevation average error.Based on antenna azimuth angle and pitch angle sampling data, the parameter value calculation and abnormal discrimination method are defined. At the same time, the problems that need attention in the application of the detection method are explained. The test application of Wuhan CINRAD/SA weather radar shows that the proposed detection method can monitor the antenna operating status and abnormality in real time and accurately under the operating conditions of weather radar volume coverage pattern scanning, and is easy to implement.
