Abstract This paper,by utilizing Visual Basic (VB) language programming and CopyMemory functions of WinAPI,effectively solves the binary byte data required for VB to read out the base data file of standard format from new generation of weather radar (CINRAD),providing a method to read out base data files of standard format by VB programming,which can be used for the timely upgrading of application software for basic station operations.
