Echo characteristics and forecast of lightning events in Fengcheng |

Abstract In order to do a good job in lightning protection and reduce the casualties caused by lightning strikes,this paper analyzes the lightning strikes in Fengcheng in 15 years by using the survey data of lightning strikes in Fengcheng from the year of 2007 to 2021,MICAPS weather data,radar mosaic echo data and other data,and using the principles and methods of statistics,meteorology and radar meteorology.The results show that:1)the 18 lightning strikes in Fengcheng mainly occurred in June and July,and the peak is at 08:00 and 14:00-18:00.2) The lightning strike occurred in front of the 500 hPa high trough and on the south side of the lower shear line,and under the weather background of 850 hPa with southwest jet and convergence line on the ground.3)The lightning strike event occurs on the echo short band or block monomer,and the combined reflectivity echo intensity is 50~55 dBz.The research results provide an analytical basis for the short-term forecast of lightning weather in Fengcheng.
