Abstract  This paper proposed a scheme for far-field calibration of weather radars by using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) active calibrators,in response to the lack of far-field calibration capabilities of weather radar.By providing the test items and conditions for the UAV active calibrator to carry out far-field calibration test of the weather radar, the full-link test of the radar antenna, the transmitting channel and the receiving channel was completed. The test results meet the relevant technical requirements. In the future, the calibration instrument will be further imporved in order to better meet the needs of radar calibration business.
