Abstract  Based on the current severe situation of lightning protection work. This paper briefly discusses the monitoring and early warning of lightning in Guangxi, taking Hechi City as an example to analyze the annual average distribution of thunderstorm days, spatiotemporal distribution characteristics, and lightning disaster losses. The results show that the average annual thunderstorm day in Hechi City is 61.6 days, with an average negative flash intensity of -38.22 kA and an average positive flash intensity of 49.74 kA.The monthly distribution of lightning shows a unimodal characteristic, with the lightning frequency reaching its peak in July. The most frequent lightning strikes occur on farmland and structures, accounting for approximately 60%.Propose lightning protection measures based on the causes of lightning disasters,in order to provide reference for relevant workers.
