Abstract In order to fully leverage the role of weather monitoring technology in mitigating the impact of natural disasters,a comprehensive comparative analysis was conducted on the performance of the Kaili,Jinping,Zhenyuan X-band dual polarization weather radar and Rongjiang C-band dual polarization weather radar in detecting precipitation weather,based on actual weather conditions.The performance of the two radars in measuring key parameters such as reflectivity,differential reflectivity,cross-correlation coefficient,and differential propagation phase was compared and analyzed.The results show that the X-band dual polarization weather radar has higher detection accuracy for closer range targets,while the echo measurement values of the C-band dual polarization weather radar show better stability in long-distance target detection,with higher detection accuracy of the X-band dual polarization weather radar within a range of 20 km.
