Abstract Offshore wind power as an important component of renewable energy,it has enormous development potential and environmental benefits.However,the impact of lightning on the offshore wind power systems has become one of the important factors restricting their reliability and safety.In order to effectively prevent and deal with the potential problems caused by lightning,it is of great research significance and practical value to develop and implement the offshore wind power lightning protection detection platform by using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology.This paper explores the application of IoT technology in offshore wind power lightning protection detection platforms,through the collection,analysis and early warning of lightning data,to provide scientific basis and technical support for the safe operation of offshore wind power system.
