Abstract  In response to the problem of malfunctioning measuring instruments during the calibration period, this paper takes meteorological measuring instruments as an example to analyze the malfunctioning conditions and causes, and proposes a method of instrument error monitoring based on the Internet of Things and big data technology. The results show that the main reasons for inaccurary of meteorological measuring instruments are harsh working environment, high frequency of use,and unreasonable calibration cycles. The process monitoring method can fundamentally solve the problem of malfunctioning of measuring instruments during the calibration period, monitor the error trend of measuring instruments, diagnose and evaluate the performance of measuring instruments, and predict and replace high-risk measuring instruments in advance.
