Abstract In this paper,the observation data of automatic stations and ERA-5 reanalysis data are used to analyze the weather process of the typhoon "Higos" rainstorm in Taishan City from August 19,2020.The results show that Taishan is mainly affected by the western Pacific subtropical high during this weather period.The 500 hPa subtropical high remains relatively stable,and the subtropical high is crucial to the typhoon intensity,movement and landing.There are strong cyclones distributed in the Indian Peninsula,which raise the water vapor and unstable energy in the Bay of Bengal,and transmit to Taishan and surrounding areas under the effect of the westerly wind in the south of the vortex,providing favorable conditions for the formation of the typhoon rainstorm weather.
