Analysis of spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and warning indicators of hail in Weining County |

Abstract Using hail data and radar data collected from 37 artillery stations in Weining Yi,Hui,and Miao Autonomous County,Guizhou Province (referred to as "Weining County") from 2013 to 2022,the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and radar echo parameters of hail in Weining County were analyzed,and the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and hail warning indicators of hail in Weining County were obtained.Research has found that the hail process in Weining County mainly occurs from the afternoon of February to September before 22:00,with the highest frequency of hail occurring from 17:00-18:00.Three hail belts formed in Weining County from the northwest,north,and south.There is a significant increase in the top height of the 45-50 dBZ echo 10 minutes before hail,and the correlation coefficient of the strong echo center greater than 50 dBZ during hail has obvious changes,which can be used as a partial indicator for hail warning.The research results provide reference for hail warning and artificial weather modification scientific operations in Weining County.
